Biography

Adept is a Post-Hardcore/ Metalcore-Band from Trosa (Sweden) that was formed in 2004, consisting of Robert Ljung (vocals), Jerry Repo (guitar), Jacob Papinniemi (guitar), Tobias Ottoson (bass guitar) and Gabriel Hellmark (drums).
In the foundation year they made their first self-recorded demo Hopeless Illusions.
One year later their first EP When the Sun Gave Up the Sky was released, even financed by the band members themselves.
Since the release of their second EP The Rose Will Decay (2006) the band has become quite more popular in Sweden. The label Panic & Action paid attention and made a contract with Adept.
On 4th February 2009 their first album Another Year of Disaster was released followed by the EP Shark! Shark! Shark! in October.
Meanwhile, Filip Brandelius replaced their bassist and still plays in their actual formation.
After playing some shows in Sweden and also Germany, which were a big success for the band, they started working on their next record.  They were able to work together with Frederik Nordström, a skilled producer who already worked with Bring me the Horizon and In Flames. The song If I’m a Failure You’re a Tragedy could already be heard on the Sample Burn All The Small Towns 2.
The album Death Dealers was released on 11th March 2011.
The guitarist Jacob Papinniemi left the band during their tour through Europe on 9th June. In September 2011 Adept announced that Gustav Lithammer is the official replacement for Jacob.
